George Shores III was the first of four boys born to George and Cynthia Shores in Chicago, Illinois.
George had a special way of spreading love. His love for God was shown to all. He loved his late wife Jeanette and three children, Britton, Brandon, and Keisha, with all his heart. He loved his brothers and special sisters, all of his nieces and nephews, his grandchildren, the generations of kids he has coached and mentored, as well as the friends he’s made throughout the years.
He had an incredible mind and enthusiasm for learning. He held a career in computer engineering for 35 years, where he loved his work and cherished his colleagues. George had a special love for his work family from his early days at Bell Labs/Lucent Technology to his final years with CACI.
George was truly able to live a life he loved. He was able to enjoy family, friends, music, nature, and the simple joys of adventures.
George participated in the ACT-SO program, where he competed and won before going on to college, and he would later be a mentor as an adult. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a master’s degree in science and a bachelor’s degree in computer science.
George was peacefully called home on February 10th, 2024. George would want everyone to remember the power of faith, love, and the will of the Lord our God as we process his transition.
