Ernie V. Fuller, age 84, transitioned on January 31, 2018 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center.
A member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church since 1954, he served in various ministries for over 40 years.
Served in the U.S. Army as a 101st Airborne paratrooper Screaming Eagle.
Retired from Caterpillar and Grand Prairie Bus Company. Also employed by the Herald News for many years.
Preceded in death by his former wife, Dorothy Fuller, great-granddaughter, Akiya Egeston; brother and sister-in-law, William and Lucinda Fuller and nephew, Terry Fuller.
Ernie is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Joyce Fuller; four daughters: Diane Jenkins, Chelsie Boatright, Tracey Boatright and Kim Webster; two sons: DeAndre Fuller and William Boatright; special grandchildren Vincent and Maria Curry; one brother: Marion “Pete” Fuller; two goddaughters: Gale Hankins Tanzy and Charri Griffin and a host of family and friends.
Funeral Services 10:00am Wednesday February 7th, 2018 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1404 South Briggs Street, Joliet, IL 60433. Visitation 9:00am – 10:00am. Interment with Military Honors immediately following at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Pastor Edward Martin, Jr., Officiating.
